Joan Smith Designs offers a unique line of contemporary, hand fabricated, jewelry using traditional silversmith techniques. My jewelry line is remarkably handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. I lean towards clean lines and simple, elegant designs.

I am also a fabricator of women’s accessories. My newest line is handcrafted, cork fabric fanny packs with my own forged metal closures and components.

I am a retired federal employee. I have studied the art of metalwork with Silverworks Studio in Glen Echo Park, MD, since 2011. I exhibited annually at the Glen Echo Park Popcorn Gallery, Labor Day Art Shows, the Worcester County Arts Council, Berlin, MD, the Art League of Ocean City, MD and South Street Gallery, Hingham, MA.

In September of 2020, my husband and I moved from our longtime home in Rockville, Maryland to Haverhill, MA. My husband is a native of the Merrimack Valley and a move back called to us. I am enjoying exploring my new home and am in awe with all the Bay State has to offer.
